North and South, What do I already know?

First and foremost, I will be switching to a comparative/contrasting essay on the North and Souths politics, reactions to issues, and values.

politics: Republican=North
Democrat=South
Lincoln Douglas debates
Republican=anti expansion of slavery, free soil, free labor, tariffs, homestead act, and transcontinental railroad
Democrat=popular sovereignty, states rights, slave code, slave trade, and planters rights
Lincoln was a moderate republican
Douglas was a fairly fervent democrat

reactions to issues: Lecompten constitution: pro south
Dred Scott decision: pro south
Lincoln's presidency: pro north
bleeding Kansas: anti both
fugitive slave act of 1850: pro south
John Browns raid and death: pro north

values: South=chivalry
North=morality
